I’m so thankful for all the abundance in life that God gives us, truly every good and perfect gift come down from the Father above. The abundance of family, friends, the Body of Christ, all of the daily provisions, food, clothing, housing, transportation, our jobs, the happy times, the fun and memorable experiences that we hold dear to our hearts. But along with that abundance, life has a way of reminding us of what Jesus meant when John writes in the 16th chapter, verse 33 “In the world ye shall have tribulation, but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world”.
It seems like the average day is so full of bad news, we need to counter it by thinking on good things. It doesn’t take long as we focus on the pain, sorrow and struggles of this life that soon we seem a bit discouraged or blue. Sometimes unchecked, that can be a downhill track to even more heaviness of heart in the day.
A while ago I had two friends inform me on the same day that their wives were divorcing them. I started thinking about God’s instruction to us in His Word and Jesus teaching about the Greatest Commandment. It’s all about relationship…
